This work examines the seasonal nature of charitable giving in Korean society, particularly the surge of donations in winter and the superficiality of such gestures.
The installation consists of an incomplete linoleum structure and a conveyor belt activated by pre-set donation amounts. With each donation, candy—visually abundant yet nutritionally void—accumulates into the space.
Candy functions here as a metaphor for easy, low-effort giving: sweet but unsustaining. The growing pile critiques how visible donations often fail to address the deeper, systemic needs of a community.
